The Candy With No Taste is the footprint of musical evolution for the members of the band. Immature themes and lyrics informing well articulated musical ideas produce tracks that are offensive yet pleasing at the same time. Many of the tracks were recorded quickly and artifacts and engineering shortcomings in the audio give the EP the feel of a garage demo. Several of the tracks were removed from later publications due to ownership and copyright claims by artists linked to Gary and Joe's former collaborators. Douchebag For Your Love and the Title track were the best received of the songs to make the final cut. A B-side, “Donuts For No One”, would actually get the most airplay solely on College airwaves in Rhode Island, U.S. and Argentina. The band would coalesce during this time period with musicians from the touring unit joining in the studio to provide a strong foundation for future recording ideas. Bootlegs and early pressings still retain the removed tracks.
